One of the nicest vacations I ever did was a tour of the Australian coast between Sydney and Melbourne. Not only was the scenery remarkable, the Australian poeple were friendly and helpful. There were also a heap of things to do.

Next destination was Fish Creek, a tiny, quirky and thriving town with arts and crafts, books and cafes. I took the bridge over to Phillip Island, a popular family stop. At Nobbies Centre you can watch the penquins strutting up and down the beach and see one of Australia’s largest fur seal settlements.

I ended my trip in Melbourne making my last stop at the working heritage farm on Churchill Island. Renting a car gave me the flexibility and convenience during my trip from Sydney to Melbourne. Next time I may get a car rental in Melbourne and do this trip the other direction!

Union Unite has decided to conduct a study on around 2,500 workers in the not-for-profit sector after a recent research showed that more than 90% of workers in this sector suffer from stress.

A recent research by the Union had brought forth the fact that a vast majority of workers in voluntary sector (approx 90%) feel that they are stressed due to poor economic condition of charities.

The observation was followed up by the announcement of a campaign to eliminate work stress by the Union. The campaign will be of one year duration and was declared on International Workers Memorial Day.

Unite has decided to understand the workplace logistics to the fullest, remind the employers of their legal duties towards employees, vouch for the best practices in the industry that would help curbing work related stress, and ensure proper implementation of the policies by employers.
