Publicizing Your Company

Got a huge need for publicity and a tiny publicity budget? You don’t need to have a Madison Avenue-sized advertising budget to make your name known.

Here are five ideas to help you promote your company:

1. Write a column. Go to a local paper, no matter how small, and offer to write a column on your area of expertise or on business in general. Don’t ask to be paid for it, and promise not to promote your company. You won’t need toyour byline, words (and maybe even photograph) will do that.

2. Speak up. Make yourself available to talk to every civic, business and educational group that will have you. Stress your expertise, and, as with the column, never try to sell anythingexcept your reputation as a knowledgeable, trustworthy professional.

3. Write notes. Include a one- or two-line personal message with every piece of literature you send out. You can even write it on the material. This tactic helps customers see the person behind the company.

4. Be a joiner. Get involved in trade associations. You may spend a lot of time with competitors, but it’s a way to let people know you’re out there, and it will offer you opportunities to sell. In addition, be sure to join networking groups, and local community groups.

5. Be a sponsor. A few hundred dollars gets your company name on Little League caps; a little more, perhaps an ad at a roller rink. Donate money or materials to the local parade or a float. This buys goodwill and is great self-promotion.

So start revving up your publicity campaign today!

About Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS)

Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) is a functional disorder of the colon (large intestine) that causes crampy abdominal pain, bloating, constipation and/or diarrhea. The symptoms of IBS can include:

1.Gas

2.Pain

3.Bloating

4.Nausea

5.Vomiting

6.Mucous in the stool

7.Constipation

8.Diarrhea

There are 3 different forms of IBS:

1.Diarrhea-predominant

2.Constipation-predominant and,

3.Switching constipation and diarrhea

Some of the guidelines may help in improving the conditions of IBS; eating several smaller meals during the day, rather than three large ones (large meals may result in cramping and diarrhea). Additionally, it may be helpful to keep meals low in fat and high in carbohydrates such as whole-grain breads, pasta, rice, fruits, vegetables, and cereals. A low fat, high protein diet may also help with pain experienced after eating. Fiber which is soluble in nature has several benefits that may also reduce symptoms of IBS.
Fiber may prevent spasms because it keeps the colon somewhat distended. It also absorbs water, which helps to keep stools soft rather than hard.

Initially switching to a high fiber diet may increase gas and bloating, but these will subside in a few weeks time as the body adjusts to these parameters.

Bloating can be decreased by reducing the intake of foods that cause intestinal Gas. Carbonated beverages (such as soda pop or sparkling water) are the major ones which lead to abound bloating and intestinal gas. Foods that may cause Intestinal gas include Bananas, Beans, Broccoli, Brussels sprouts, Cabbage, Cauliflower, Garlic, Leeks, Nuts, Onions and Raisins.
Foods high in soluble fiber include; Barley, Brown rice, Currants, Dried beans, Figs, French bread, Fresh peas, Oat Bran, Oatmeal, Pasta, Prunes, Ishagula (Psyllium husks),Raisins, Rice, Whole wheat bread, Soy etc.
Supplements may be helpful in adding the necessary fiber to the diet. Soluble fiber supplements like Psyllium, Methylcellulose, and Polycarbophil can be taken on a daily basis as per the recommended dose. Psyllium can be taken every day to bulk up stool, making it easier to pass. Methylcellulose is a fiber that is non allergenic, since it is created from the cell wall of plants. It absorbs water to create a softer stool. Its better than Psyllium, as it is less likely to cause intestinal gas. Similar to methylcellulose, Polycarbophil is created from plants too, and is not absorbed by the body. It absorbs water in the intestinal tract and creates a bulkier and softer stool. Polycarbophil is less likely to cause bloating and can be used long term.

Last but not the least; please refrain from drinking Coffee, as Coffee is a known bowel irritant. The caffeine contained in coffee is bad for the digestive system. Caffeine speeds up every system in the body, including the colon, which can lead to diarrhea. Well, even decaffeinated coffee is not good for IBS patients as it contains acids that can increase stomach acid production, further triggering the symptoms of IBS.

Business Credit Cards

Business credit cards are an important way of gaining credit that most business owners ignore. Most credit cards allow for up to 56 days interest free credit provided the outstanding balance is settled in full. There is absolutely nothing to stop you using this facility for your business although you will need to keep a careful track of the relevant records.

The essential point is that you must research what is available. In other words, it is mandatory in business to establish how much credit you can obtain and how long you will be given to pay. You cannot, for example, draw up any meaningful cash flow forecasts unless you assume from the outset that no credit will be available.

It can take time to get business credit cards. In most cases the bank will require some form of reference. All banks have different philosophies when it comes to giving a business credit card and you will need to check the exact position from your bank. Having gained agreement to a credit account it is extremely important that you do not abuse that facility. It can be easily withdrawn as it was granted and this could place severe pressure on your cash flow. Always adhere to the agreed terms of the credit and make payment promptly when it is required.

Failure to pay on time could also render you liable to penalties. Remember that the provisions of the Late Payment of Commercial Debt Act will also apply to debts that you owe. Bearing in mind the substantial statutory interest rate, the charges involved could represent a substantial amount and it is therefore something that you should avoid at all cost. If, of course, your creditors start to charge you on this basis it is also likely that they will have already withdrawn your credit facility.

Business Credit Cards provides detailed information on Business Credit Cards, New Business Credit Cards, Secured Business Credit Cards, Bad Credit Business Credit Cards and more. Business Credit Cards is affiliated with Small Business Credit Cards.

Financial Freedom: In Rough Economic Waters

Many businesses, and families, are struggling within the framework of the present economy; however, some people are still finding new ways to “think outside the box.” The economy is like the speed limit on the highway; some people stay the course, while others pull into the high-speed lane and give it all they’ve got.

Now - I am not encouraging you to break the speed limit, but I am letting you know that you can surpass perceived economic barriers, even in a tough economy. How is this possible? It takes innovators to get out of an economic downturn. Whether you are thinking of a recession or depression, it requires creative thinking on all of our parts to get out of one.

Apparently, the thinking is up to the private sector, for the moment, so what do we do? First of all, research your goal, find like-minded people, write your goals down, and go for it. This will require dedication and it won’t happen in a day. If you have assembled a team, let everyone work with their strong points.

Assess the strengths of an innovator in comparison to “the numbers person.” We all have strengths and weaknesses, but we have to utilize the strong points for success. Even an independent thinker can fit into a collective group, if he or she agrees to be constructive. This is why a collective group is so strong in comparison to a “solo act.”

Together, you can research opportunities and put doubts aside. Right now, there are opportunities in servicing, consultation, and Internet commerce. There are also more possibilities, but they require initial research on your part.

I recently talked with a gentleman who made an impulsive investment. He has spent nearly $10,000 on his web site. He offers a variety of products that have nothing in common. He gets no traffic, no sales, and wonders why.

Firstly, he did have good intentions, but he did not do any research. He went into this venture on impulse and did not “weigh up” any advice. Not all of the advice you get will be useful, but it will help you make an educated decision. Most everyone, who is successful on the Internet, has done their research and then found a particular niche. You can’t open a general store on the Internet without competing against WalMart. Who wants to do that?

When considering any business endeavors, listen to the advice for your own good. Get advice from positive thinkers and from “doom and gloom” thinkers. This will give you the full picture, and you can make an informed decision.

Most of all, never give up. Developing an additional revenue stream, that will help you pay down debts, is the goal. If we can all do that, the global economic climate will improve for the best.

Living and Holidaying on Poole Quay

Holidaying or even living near Poole Harbour in Dorset has lots to recommend it.

  • It has the largest natural harbour in Europe and the second largest in the world.

  • It has 3 miles of deep golden sand beaches and Sandbanks has been voted the best beach in Britain and has won the Blue Flag award thirteen times.

  • Sandbanks (an area of Poole) has 18 millionaires residing and is the fourth most expensive place to buy land per acre in the world.
  • It is home to Brownsea Island, which is famous for its red squirrels and its links to the Scouting movement. It is owned by the National Trust and you can easily get a boat trip from the quay to the Island for a great day out.

  • It has thriving town and the shopping centre is within walking distance of Poole Quay

  • The quay is home to the world famous Poole Pottery. Poole Pottery has a factory outlet on the quay and there you are able to buy reduced ’seconds’ of popular ranges (you can’t always tell the difference) as well as their full priced products. Poole Pottery is sold all over the world and is very collectable.

  • You can get a ferry from Poole harbour to Cherboug in Western France

  • The train station is only a one minute walk from the main shopping area. From here you can get a train to London which takes approx 2 hours.

  • The habour is excellent for sailing, fishing and jet-skiing.

Poole Quay itself is home to Sunseeker, local fishing boats, Poole Pottery, Brownsea Island cruise boats, a fantastic marina, food kiosks, cafes, restaurants, pubs and gift shops.

A particular favourite cafe of mine is Corkers where in the day time you can get a lovely cup of tea or hot chocolate with a lovely choice of hot and cold food.

Poole was traditionally a fishing port and there are still fishermen working in the harbour. Their boats moor next door to the expensive yachts in the marina. You can still buy fish direct from the boats.
At the opposite end of the quay is the lifting bridge which opens hourly to let the boats through.

In the marina you’ll find all sorts of yachts including Sunseeker and you’ll also see their yachts on the other side of the quay where they’re made!

If you want to live or holiday in a Mediterranean atmosphere consider coming to Poole - it’s ideal for full time living and for holiday homes.

Chloe Greenslade has lived in Poole all her life and although she has travelled all around the UK always returns to her roots. She now runs http://www.budsyhomefinder.com helping people find their ideal home in Dorset and the New Forest.

Less risk with foreign bonds

Foreign bond funds are ideal for investors seeking income and diversification. Foreign bond funds, as their name suggests, invest in bonds that pay their interest and principal in a currency other your home currency. Foreign government and corporations issue these bonds.

A foreign bond receives interest and generates income for investors, just like a domestic bond. It will fluctuate in value - declining when interest rates go up, and increasing when interest rate go down. Foreign bonds will also increase and decrease in value when their currency changes relative to your home currency. Investors should consider foreign bonds as an excellent investment alternative.

Why are foreign bond funds worth considering? They offer excellent diversification and return potential. 1. Foreign bonds funds are poorly correlated with other investment categories. Thus, foreign bonds make a great addition to a portfolio; they ill reduce the risk and provide opportunities to adjust your investment mix between bonds and equities.

2. Foreign bond funds are unique because they have the ability to invest throughout the world. To find bonds with higher returns investors should consider foreign bonds, which do offer higher returns than their domestic counterparts.

3. Changes in currency can boost returns. Since foreign bond funds invest in bonds of other countries, they will in turn invest in other currencies. This risk and opportunity is higher for foreign bonds because a larger portion of the bond’s return is derived from changes in currency. A good foreign bond manager will add value in the fund by capitalizing on both currency and bond opportunities.

TV History: The Popularity of TV Theme Ringtones

One of the reasons why personalized ringtones are enjoying such an immense popularity all over the world is because of the ability to actually bring your personality to your phone. With personalized ringtones you can immediately show to other people what kind of person you are the moment they hear your ringtone. If you are the goofy type of person then you’d have one of those funny songs, a hilarious joke or a funny sound effect as your ring tone. If you are the romantic type then love songs would usually be your ringtone. The adventurous people may select rock or techno music as their ringtones. Of course, anime fans will definitely get anime theme songs as their ringtones.

One of the more popular ringtone types that most mobile users prefer to use are ringtones based on TV themes. Choosing tv theme ringtones present a different side of a person’s personality - one that loves or is a fan of nostalgia.

Why would nostalgia be associated with TV themes anyway? It is simple, really. We are a generation that has grown up with the television set as a constant companion of our lives. It is an ubiquitous part of any household and it is also a regular source for free entertainment. We have practically grown up with the television blaring its programs in our households and as years progress, there are TV shows that we have come to associate with either a certain aspect of our life or particular point in our growing up years. This is attitude is actually not strange but a very normal kind of behaviour, in fact just observe a group of friends who grew up during a particular era - the 70’s or the 80’s for example - and you will notice that their conversations would usually drift towards what they would usually watch on TV. The more obscure or least popular the show the better because it helps transport them to that time when they were still care-free children.

The allure of TV theme ringtones is thus a very understandable phenomena. It not only brings us pleasant memories of the past or of our childhood - it also gives people who have common likes or grew up at the same time an anchor towards establishing a conversation. This is quite easy to prove. Just put a ringtone of a TV show that you grew up with, let’s say the classic A Team TV theme or the funky Knight Rider theme, on your mobile phone. Now let it ring in a crowd and you will notice that people who are same age as you are would whip their heads and look in your general direction trying to trace who owns the ringtone. If you are lucky enough someone may even approach you and strike up a conversation! But of course reminiscing about the good old times is best done among friends. It is during this time that the conversation runs wild. Discussions about their favourite theme songs will usually mutate to talk about their favourite movies during that time, even their favourite snacks! Truly, nostalgia is a great way of touching base with friends.

Your Birth Control Method May be Depleting Your Body of Essential Nutrients

While there are a lot of different options for birth control, the most widely used is the birth control pill, often just referred to as “the pill” which use synthetic hormones to suppress ovulation to prevent pregnancy. Recently some new forms of hormonal contraceptives have become available such as the NuvaRing, which is a plastic ring that is placed inside the vagina that releases a constant low dose of hormones into your body. Another is the Ortho Evra Patch that works in the similar way by releasing low dose hormones through the skin to prevent pregnancy.

While these products are an effective method of birth control, they do have some risks. These risks, such as blood clotting, increase with age, or if a woman uses tobacco products. Another important thing you want to understand is that the estrogen component of these products has been linked to a wide variety of nutritional deficiencies, including Vitamin C, Vitamin B-2 (riboflavin), Vitamin B-6 (pyridoxine), Folic acid, Vitamin B-12 (cobalamin), Magnesium, Zinc and Selenium.

Women may use birth control pills for many years, and don’t discontinue their use until shortly before they want to try and become pregnant. This is a crucial time in your life that you would want to be in optimal health and have optimal nutritional status for the health of your baby. Since long term use of these products has been linked to such a wide variety of nutritional deficiencies, it is important to supplement your body’s essential nutrients and lessen worries about being deficient in any essential nutrients during the crucial time you are trying to conceive.
